In force: 1st October 1982

This Act provides for development applications to be determined by Local Authorities which are the sole authorities empowered to issue permits (section 7). It also lays down in detail the procedures for the preparation of Outline Schemes which are the main reference against which planning applications are assessed with a view to issue permits and location of various activities determined.

It further allows for aggrieved parties to appeal to the Town and Country Planning Board for review of permits. Any person aggrieved by the decision of the Board may then appeal to a Judge in Chambers.
